About Me

Hello and welcome to my portfolio!

My name is Cailyn Turner. I am currently working toward my bachelor’s degree in anthropology with a focus in archaeology at Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis.

My dad was in the military for the first half of my life and we moved around a lot because of it. I got to see many cool places and cultures at a very young age and it is what first interested me in anthropology.

Over the past two summers I have worked out at Lawrenz Gun Club a prehistoric Mississippian village in west-central Illinois. This archaeological site will always been close to my heart as it what solidified that archaeology was the career choice for me.

Once I graduate I plan to move out west to find a job as an archaeological assistant surveying and protecting archaeological sites and teaching interested parties the importance of conservation.

Fun facts:

I am a huge movie buff; my favorite movies are The Princess Bride, The Fifth Element, and Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade. I also enjoy TV, I would recommend Parks and Recreation, Doctor Who, and Firefly to anyone. Considering the daily stressors of work and school, my favorite past time has to be watching Netflix with my boyfriend but a close second would be hiking. I also have three dogs (Ginger, Bailey, and Millie) that are my adorable ladies and one turtle (Shelldon) who I am pretty sure is male and is one chill dude.
